Finding Light Through Breath and Cold
It started with a cold plunge, and what I found was a light I didn’t know was inside me. I first discovered breathwork and cold plunging at a time when my thoughts, fears, and doubts felt endless. With ADHD, my brain rarely quieted, and I often relied on coping strategies that left me drained and disconnected. But when I focused on my breath or stepped into cold water, the noise softened and the overwhelm lifted. In its place came a calm and clarity I hadn’t experienced before, a sense of energy and possibility that made me feel reborn and capable of more than I imagined.
When the Noise Softened
This is why I guide others through breath and cold. There is nothing quite like seeing someone open up, their own light shining through and knowing they can carry that strength into everyday life. I have seen people arrive stressed or uncertain, only to leave with a shift in perspective, realizing what truly matters, family, love, connection, or a new path forward.
My own journey continues alongside theirs. I keep exploring new depths within myself and in others, learning that this sense of light can endure even through life’s challenges. Sometimes it feels small or hidden beneath stress or sadness, but it never disappears. It only dims, and I find it can always be uncovered, one breath at a time, one cold plunge at a time.
Lessons From the Amazon
I was reminded of this simplicity and joy when I spent time with the Kayapo people, their true name is Mebengokre, “The people of all waters,” this summer, a Brazilian tribe in the Amazon. Living off the land, hunting, fishing, and playing, always playing in rivers and waterfalls, their lives are beautifully simple, deeply connected, and centered on love and survival. To just be. Timeless.
Community in Cold Water
Today, I offer Wim Hof Method fundamentals workshops, participate in community events, and provide private breathwork and cold plunge sessions tailored to individual goals.
As a local community here in Whistler, we gather for our weekly group dip every Wednesday at 5:55 pm, no matter the weather. At the heart of it all is connection, showing up for yourself so you can show up for others. Being in the cold water with this community reminds me why I do this and why I created We Dip Whistler Community Dips.
Join Us
If you’d like to experience this for yourself, you are welcome to join us any Wednesday at 5:55 pm for our community dip. Private sessions and workshops are also available to help you explore breath and cold at your own pace. I would love to welcome you to the water.
